Location

Lapa is a centrally located neighborhood with easy access to other parts of the city. Travel distances and driving times (or ride-share/taxi times) from the neighborhood vary depending on the destination:

• Sambódromo da Marquês de Sapucaí: on foot is the fastest way!  The distance is approximately 1.5 to 2 km (0.9 to 1.2 miles), and the walk takes about 15 to 25 minutes. 

• Selarón Steps (Escadaria Selarón) and Lapa Arches (Arcos da Lapa): Located within the neighborhood itself, it's about 15 to  25 minutes walk.

• Station of the Santa Teresa Tram (located at Rua Lélio Gama, nº 2) is approximately 1.5 km (0.9 miles): This trip takes about 15–20 minutes on foot or just 5–8 minutes by car or ride-sharing app. 

• Sugarloaf Mountain Cable Car (Bondinho do Pão de Açúcar - Urca): Approximately 6 km (3.7 miles) away. The trip takes about 11–15 minutes by car.

• Copacabana Beach: Approximately 7 km (4.3 miles) away. The journey takes around 13–15 minutes by car. Or 20-25 minutes by public transportation.

• Christ the Redeemer (Corcovado): Approximately 8–30 km (5–19 miles) away, depending on the chosen access point in the Paineiras area. Travel time to the official van boarding location is typically about 20–25 minutes by bus or car

• Maracana Stadium (Estadio do Maracana): The distance between the Lapa area and Maracanã Stadium is approximately 6 km (3.7 miles). The route by car or taxi takes about 22 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. 

• Barra da Tijuca Beach: It is located approximately 28 km (17.4 miles), about a 27–37 minute drive via the Linha Amarela expressway.
